Shenzhou XVI (abbreviated as: Shenzhou XVI) is the 16th spacecraft launched by China's manned space program.

In April 2022, it was reported that the new batch of Shenzhou 16 spacecraft has made some technical improvements, and the development and delivery work is steadily advancing. In June, according to the China Manned Space Engineering Office, the Shenzhou team carried out the return mission, the rendezvous and docking of two ships, and the emergency rescue standby mission of three ships as planned, involving a total of four Shenzhou spacecraft from Shenzhou 13 to Shenzhou 16. On October 6, according to CCTV military news, it was learned from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center that Shenzhou 16 was basically ready for work and had the conditions to meet the spacecraft and rocket approach. In December, according to CCTV military news, Shenzhou 16 spacecraft has completed the final assembly test work at the launch site and entered the emergency rescue standby state.
On February 15, 2023, the China Manned Space Engineering Office officially launched the annual manned flight mission identification collection activity, and publicly solicited the mission identification of two manned flight missions and one cargo spacecraft flight mission in 2023. On February 16, it was reported that it planned to launch the Shenzhou 16 manned spacecraft in May. On March 21, Shenzhou 16 manned mission logo was released. In April, the State Intellectual Property Office issued an announcement on the approval of the registration of three special marks including the "Shenzhou 16 manned flight mission".
